A man is due in court tomorrow charged in connection with a fatal stabbing on O'Connell Street in Dublin earlier this week.

39-year-old Kilkenny man Peter Donnelly was stabbed at around 1:40am on Tuesday morning.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.

A 28-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later.

He is due to appear in Dublin District Court tomorrow morning in connection with the case.
