A man is due in court after a driver mounted the footpath 'narrowly missing pedestrians' and crashed into a Garda car in south Dublin.
Investigators said gardaí on patrol in Monkstown last Friday spotted a parked car that had been reported as stolen.
When one of the gardaí approached the car, the driver ‘mounted the footpath at speed’, crashing into the Garda car and ‘narrowly missing pedestrians and the uniformed member’.
No one was injured in the incident.
Today Gardaí said a man in his 30s had been arrested in connection with the incident.
He has since been charged and is due before Dun Laoghaire District Court this morning.
The Garda investigation is ongoing.
