Two men have been seriously injured after a driver lost control of a car and crashed into them outside a Dublin pub on Saturday night.
It happened at the corner of Thomas Court and Thomas Street in Dublin 8 at around 11:20pm.
Gardaí said the car struck a number of kerbside barriers and mounted the footpath as it was making the turn. It then hit three men standing on the pavement.
Two of the men were taken to St James’s Hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The third man did not need immediate medical attention.
Gardaí said the driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has since been charged.
He is due in court in Dublin this morning.
The incident has also been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) as Gardaí interacted with the car before the incident.
The scene was sealed off for a time yesterday but has since been reopened.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area between 11pm and 11:20pm and may have camera footage.
