A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Stoneybatter in Dublin over the weekend.

Gardaí say it happened on Aughrim Street on Saturday night.

A man in his 20s suffered “lacerations to his hand” during the incident and was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the incident yesterday and charged by Gardaí last night.

He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
