A man is due to appear in court today after being charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Limerick city.
On Tuesday, a man in his 50s, now named as James Forde, died following a hit-and-run incident on the Ennis Road shortly after 2pm.
The car involved - a maroon-coloured Ford Focus with the number plate 141 C 3717 - failed to remain at the scene but has since been located.
A man in his 30s was arrested on Tuesday evening and has since been charged.
He is due to appear before Limerick District Court this morning, Thursday, November 28th.
In a post on rip.ie, the family of James Forde thanked "the dedicated care" of the First Responders, Gardaí and University Hospital Limerick staff.
Mr Forde, of Shannamore Park, Clareview, Limerick, passed "surrounded by his loving family" at UHL, following the incident.
His funeral will take place on November 30th at Christ the King Church, Caherdavin.
