A man is due in court this morning in connection with an incident at the Russian Embassy in Dublin yesterday.

A truck was driven through the gates of the embassy on Orwell Road at around 1:30pm yesterday afternoon.

A man was arrested at the scene and taken to Rathfarnham Garda Station.

He is expected to be brought before Tallaght District Court this morning to face charges.

In the hours after the incident, the Embassy accused Gardaí of ‘standing idle’ while it happened.

Gardaí have since erected security barriers around the property.
