A man is due in court charged over a Dublin assault not far from the Team Ireland Olympic homecoming event yesterday.
A man in his 40s was hospitalised after the assault on Marlborough Street yesterday afternoon.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It happened just one street over from the Olympic homecoming event that saw 20,000 gathering outside the GPO to celebrate Team Ireland’s success in Paris.
A man in his 40s was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident and was questioned at a Garda station in Dublin city centre.
He has now been charged and is due before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
