A 22 year old man is due before the district court in Dublin this morning charged in connection with the fatal shooting Edward O'Connor.

The 41 year old was shot repeatedly in the back as he walked away from a fist fight on the Ballycoolin Road in Finglas last Sunday evening. 

It's believe the murder is connected to a fight in a pub during which a relative of the victim was seriously injured.

Gardaí arrested a 22 year old man earlier this week. 

He was being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda Station under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act. 

He's due to be charged at the District Court in Dublin at half past ten this morning.

A second man and a woman arrested in relation to this investigation have been since been released without charge.
