A man (35) has appeared in court charged in connection with a robbery at Rosie's Cafe on Werburgh Street in Dublin yesterday morning.

Brian Comiskey of Iveagh Trust Buildings, Bride Street was arrested after gardai received reports of a man threatening staff with a scissors.

He left the premises with a sum of money and was followed by a member of staff.

Gardaí arrested him at a nearby housing complex following a search.

He is accused of stealing €130 and has been remanded in custody until later this week.
