A man is to be sentenced today for sexually assaulting a HSE worker in a care home 2 years ago.
He held the woman down on a couch before she managed to get free and call her colleagues for help.
The man was convicted of sexual assault by a jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last April.
The woman gave evidence that she had just come on duty and was alone in the house with the accused when he asked her to come into the living room to show her something on television.
She went in and he showed her ‘Judge Judy’ was on, before he pulled her onto the couch and sexually assaulted her.
She managed to get free, grab a phone and run to the back garden where she called a colleague for help.
It occurred on February 7th 2011.
Judge Carmel Stewart ordered a victim impact report and a probation report to be prepared for sentencing today.
