The 32-year-old man discovered with serious injuries at an apartment in Killarney on Sunday has died.

The man was pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital this afternoon.

Gardaí also discovered the body of the man’s 11-month-old son after arriving at the apartment on Upper High Street, Killarney.

The baby was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was taken to hospital.

On Tuesday a mass at St Mary's Cathedral in Killarney was celebrated for the child.

The Mass was held in the absence of his body; his funeral is to take place in Poland at a later date.

Gardaí say they are continuing to appeal for witnesses, particularly for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Park Place Apartments between 1pm to 6pm on Sunday evening.
