A post-mortem has confirmed that a man found dead in a field in Meath over the weekend died a violent death.
The man’s body was found by walkers in a woodland area at Kilbride, outside Ashbourne, on Saturday afternoon.
He was wrapped in cloth and investigators now believe he was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped there.
Last night, a post-mortem examination on the body carried out at Whitehall in Dublin found he suffered a violent death.
He's thought to have been aged in his 20's but is yet to be formally identified.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area last Friday or Saturday to contact them.
They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area and may have video footage.
Investigators are also gathering CCTV footage as they attempt to identify the car used to move the man’s body.
