In the US a man has been found guilty of the attempted murder of County Armagh woman Natasha McShane.

The 27-year-old was left brain damaged and seriously disabled following the attack in Chicago in April of 2010.

She has been left with speech problems and still requires help in order to walk. 

Viramontes savagely beat the two women in 2010

Heriberto Viramontes was found guilty of beating and robbing Natasha and her friend Stacy Jurich.

He snook up on the Irish exchange student and her friend in a Chicago neighborhood with a baseball bat and began striking them.

He stole the contents of the their purses and left the scene with another woman.

The 34-year-old faces a maximum sentence of 120 years. Viramontes did not take the stand in his own defence.
