A deaf homeless man who killed another man by pushing him in front of a Dublin bus may need to be moved to the UK to serve his sentence.
Edward Connors (30) was due to be sentenced today - but the court was told that Irish prisons do not have the facilities to cater for his needs.
Following an eight day trial in June, a sign language interpreter confirmed to Connors that a jury had found him guilty of manslaughter.
He had denied punching Eoghan Dudley in front of a Dublin bus on the corner of Nassau Street and Dawson Street in December 2012.
Today, his social worker told his sentence hearing that he does not have access to an interpreter and has no interaction with prison staff or other inmates.
A specialist psychiatrist said there were no suitable rehabilitation facilities available in Ireland for highly vulnerable deaf offenders.
The court was told that several services were available in England.
Upon hearing this, Judge Patrick McCartan decided to adjourn sentencing for two months to see if Connors would be suitable for such treatment in the UK.
