A Dublin man has been found guilty for his part in a 2005 tiger kidnapping worth over €2 million.
Jason Kavanagh of Corduff Avenue in Blanchardstown was convicted on charges of robbery and false imprisonment.
On March 14th 2005 an armed gang burst into the home of Paul Richardson in Raheny.
They held his wife and two sons in the Dublin Mountains overnight, and forced the Securicor worker to drop off almost €2.3 million during his rounds the following day.
DNA evidence linked Jason Kavanagh to the crime and he was found guilty for his part earlier today. It comes just two days after a co-accused was acquitted of all charges.
Kavanagh had been remanded in custody pending sentence but will apply for temporary bail tomorrow on grounds of compassion.
Christopher Corcoran of Bayside Boulevard North in Sutton and Mark Farrelly of Moatview Court, Priorswood in Coolock are still on trial.
The jurors now have to consider whether they think these two men had anything to do with the tiger kidnapping.
