A man who was found with a gunshot wound to the head in Dublin last week has died in hospital.
The 26-year-old was discovered with serious head injuries on Mellowes Avenue in Finglas at around 8pm on Thursday.
He was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he has since died.
His remains have been removed to the City Morgue where a postmortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.
Gardái said the man’s injuries remain unexplained and the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
Investigators are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone who was in the Mellowes Avenue, Mellowes Road, Kildonan Road or Cardiffsbridge Road between 7:30pm and 8pm last Thursday 11th November to contact them.
They are particularly interested in talking to drivers who were in the area and may have dashcam footage.
