A man in his 30s was hospitalised after he was attacked close to St. Stephen's Green in the early hours of Monday morning. 

He was taken to St James' Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s and he appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact Pease Street Garda Station and Gardaí are particularly interested in hearing from anyone with camera footage recorded around St Stephen's Green between 12:45am and 1:30am.
