A 24-year-old man is due in court today charged in connection with the murder of Aoife Phelan.
The 30-year-old pregnant nanny disappeared from Portlaoise in County Laois just over 2 weeks ago.
Her remains were found buried at the back of a house on Wednesday.
She went missing in Portlaoise on Thursday October 25th and last Monday Gardaí upgraded their investigation from that of a missing persons to a murder inquiry.
A number of searches were carried out along the River Barrow and at the rear of a house on the Timahoe Road and the man was arrested but was later released without charge.
Body found
On Wednesday morning the focus of the search moved from the River to the house on the Timahoe Road and her body was found buried in a field.
A 24-year-old man was arrested that evening and he is due to appear at Portlaoise District Court today charged in connection with her murder.
The funeral for Aoife Phelan will take place tomorrow in her native Ballyroan in Co. Laois.
She will be laid to rest following mass at St. Patrick’s Church at 2pm.
