A 19-year-old man has appeared at Dublin District Court charged over the fatal stabbing of Kevin Kenny 18 months ago.

Craig O'Halloran of Colepark Road in Ballyfermot is accused of murdering the electrician who was attacked at Sarsfield Road on July 31st 2011.

Sergeant Denis Smith gave evidence the 19-year-old was arrested at his home at 10.45pm last night and was brought to Ballyfermot Garda Station.

He made no comment when the charge was put to him.

Judge Victor Blake granted him legal aid and remanded Craig O'Halloran in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
