A man (23) is due before Dublin District Court this morning in connection with a serious assault.

Another man (20) was badly beaten on Marrowbone Lane in the south inner-city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The accused was arrested and detained at Kilmainham garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The victim remains in St. James's Hospital Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
