A garda investigation is underway following a shooting incident in Dublin.

A man in 30's was injured after he sustained gunshot wounds on the Bawnogue road in Clondalkin.

He managed to make his way into Clondalkin Garda Station at about 6.15pm before he was removed to Tallaght General Hospital for treatment.

The area around the church car park on Bawnogue Road and part of Tower Road has been sealed off for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact Clondalkin Garda Station.
