A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a road accident in county Limerick.

The single vehicle incident happened on the main Tipperary to Limerick road at around twenty -to-two this morning.

The man -who is in his late 20's- is understood to be in a serious condition.

Motorists are advised that the road is open to traffic.
