A man has been injured in a shooting in County Clare.
Gardaí are investigating a “number of incidents” in the Deerpark area of Ennistymon shortly after 6pm last night.
They were called to the area amid reports a group of people were in possession of a number of weapons including at least one firearm.
In a number of different incidents, extensive damage was caused to a number of homes and vehicles in the area.
A gun was also fired and a man in his 50s was later taken to University Hospital Galway with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí said a number of scenes have been sealed off for technical examination.
They are appealing for witnesses to any of the incidents to come forward.
They are particularly interested in speaking to road users who were in the area yesterday evening and may have camera footage.
The investigation is continuing at Ennistymon Garda Station.
