A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a shooting in Dublin.

The 20-year-old was shot a number of times at Moorfield Avenue in Clondalkin just after 7 o'clock this evening.

He's being treated in Tallaght Hospital.

A forensic examination is currently underway at the scene and Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
