A technical examination is underway at a house in west Dublin where a man was shot just a few hours ago.
The victim, who's in his 30s, was rushed to hospital where he's said to be in a stable condition.
Three bullet holes are clearly visible in the front door of the man's home at Beechfield Rise in Blanchardstown.
He was shot through the door shortly after 10 o'clock this morning and it's believed he was hit at least twice.
He was rushed to nearby Connolly hospital where his condition is described as stable.
A forensics expert is at the scene this afternoon and a full Garda investigation is underway.
Elsewhere, gardaí in south Dublin are investigating a gun attack in Rathmines in the early hours of this morning.
Shots were fired through the front living room windows of two neighbouring homes but nobody was injured.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information on either of the two shootings to come forward.
