A man has died after he was hit by a motorbike while out walking in Dublin this morning.
Gardaí said it happened on the Malahide Road between the Artane roundabout and the junction with the Kilmore Road at around 9:45am.
The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to the Dublin City Mortuary for a postmortem.
The motorcyclist was taken to Beaumont Hospital with minor injuries.
The road remains close while Gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the crash site.
Investigators are calling for witnesses, particularly drivers who were in the area and may have dash cam footage, to come forward.
