A man has died after crashing his car into a wall in County Cork.

Gardaí said it happened on the Glenville Road, Ballincrokig at around 2:45am this morning.

The man was aged in his 20s and the only person in the car when it left the road and hit a wall.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place.

The road remains closed as Gardaí carry out a forensic investigation.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information or drivers who travelled the road between 2:30am and 5:30am to contact them.
