A man has been killed following a collision in County Cavan.
The incident occurred last night on the N54 at Plush, Cloverhill, when a car and a pedestrian collided around 10:45om.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was fatally injured.
His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The male driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was uninjured.
The road remains closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
