A man has died in a car crash in Ballyedekin near Midleton, County Cork. 

The crash happened at 7.25 this morning, when an articulated lorry and car collided on the N25. 

The driver of the car, who was in his 20s, was killed and his body has been taken to University Hospital Cork; the driver of the lorry was unharmed. 

Gardaí have asked for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch and are particuarly keen to speak to anyone with dash cam footage. 

The N25 remains shut while the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a technical investigation.
