A man has died following a crash in Dublin overnight.

At around half two this morning the man, who's in his 40s, died when the van he was a passenger in collided with car on the Rathbeale Road, Swords.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van and a second passenger, both aged in their 20s, were taken to Beaumont Hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The scene of the collision has been sealed off for a techinical examination and diversions are in place.
