A man has died following a single-vehicle crash on the M1.
It happened at around 7.30am this morning between junctions 4 and 5 at Donabate.
The man had been travelling northbound when his car veered off the motorway and hit a barrier.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s body was removed to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.
The section of the M1 between junctions 4 and 5 has been closed to allow for a Garda technical exam to take place and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the crash to come forward, particularly those who may have dash cam footage and were travelling in the area at the time.
