A man has been killed following a two-vehicle crash in County Kildare.
The incident occurred around 9.20am this morning along the R448 at Barnhill East in Castledermot and involved a truck and a car.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was killed in the crash.
His body was taken to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The driver of the truck was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
No other injuries have been reported.
The R448 remains closed from Junction 4 of the M9 to Castledermot, with diversions in place.
Gardaí are asking any witnesses to the crash to come forward, particularly those with dash cam footage who were traveling through the area at the time.
