A man has been killed in a crash in Co Longford.

The victim who's in his 30s died when the car he was driving collided with a bridge wall on a minor road at Esker South near Ballinalee.

The car was discovered just before 6 o'clock this morning and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed pending a technical examination.
