A man is missing in Co Down following a fire at a farmhouse in Annaclone.

At around 7.20 this morning, emergency services were alerted to the scene of a fire at a farmhouse at Ballynafern Road, Annaclone in Co Down.

An elderly man - believed to be in his 80s - who was the sole occupant of the house is unaccounted for this evening.

Fire crews battled the blaze throughout the day. The blaze has been extinguished and fire crews have since left the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
