In Dublin, a man is being questioned by gardai this evening in connection with an assault in Inchicore last night.

A man in his forties remains in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked at Tyrconnell Road just before half past nine.

Earlier today - a man in his thirties was detained. He's being questioned at Kilmainham Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardai are still appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
