A man remains in critical condition this morning after he was stabbed in Cork city yesterday evening.
The man, aged in his mid-20s, was stabbed during an altercation on Grand Parade in the city at around 7:30pm.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
A man in his early 20s was arrested and is being held at a Garda station in Cork city.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to people who were in the area of Grand Parade/Daunt Square between 7:15pm and 8pm and may have dash-cam footage.
The road has reopened to traffic this morning.
