Gardai are appealing for assistance following a gangland style shooting in Dublin. The gun attack happened outside a shopping centre in Tallaght shortly before 10pm last night.
A team from the Garda Technical Bureau is currently carrying out a forensic examination at the scene of last night's shooting.
It happened outside St. Dominic's Shopping Centre on Mountain Park Road in Tallaght at around 9.50pm.
The man, who is known to Gardai, was shot a number of times in the upper body and head by a pillion passenger on a black motorcycle.
Superintendent David Taylor from the Garda Press Office says the two men on the motorcycle were wearing dark clothing.
"Witnesses explained to use that this motorcycle was involved in the shooting. We're asking witnesses - did you see this motorcycle, did you see it at the time of the shooting and did you see it before or after the shooting" he said.
"We're particularly anxious to establish the whereabouts and the movements of this vehicle - has anybody seen a motorcycle burnt out or discarded?" he added.
These locals woke up to the news this morning and say they are horrified by what has happened.
