Gardaí are continuing to question a man over the death of a teenager in a hit-and-run in County Kildare over the weekend.
A 16-year-old boy died after he was struck by a car on the R403 in Blackwood near Robertstown in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí said the car failed to remain at the scene.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital.
Later on Sunday afternoon, Gardaí arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the incident.
He remains in custody at a Garda station in County Kildare this morning.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
They are particularly appealing for camera footage from anyone who was in the Prosperous, Allenwood, Carbury, and Robertstown areas between 11.30pm on Saturday and 3.30 am on Sunday
