/> A man in his twenties has been held in garda custody overnight, in connection with the death of a pensioner in Sligo a week ago.

Eugene Gillespie died after being tied up and beaten at his house on Old Market Street last weekend.

Large crowds turned out at his funeral yesterday, to pay their respects to the 67 year old.
