A man has been rescued from the sea at Sandymount in Dublin.

The Dun Laoghaire Lifeboat and the Dublin Coastguard attended the scene. The man was taken from the water just after 2pm.

The man is believed to be in aged in his 50s. He is now being transferred by helicopter to Tallaght Hospital.
