A 45-year-old man was seriously injured in Derry after he was hit with a lit petrol bomb.

Two youths smashed a window of his house at Ben Varden Avenue late last night and threw the petrol bomb in.

The man was taken to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

PSNI are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
