A man is in hospital today receiving treatment after being stabbed in Cobh, east Cork. 

It happened at a service station and shop on Newtown Road shortly after 8pm last night. 

A man in his 30s was taken to Cork University Hospital where he remains in critical condition with serious injuries. 

The scene is currently sealed off as Gardaí await forensic investigators. 

There are no reports of arrests so far.
