A man in his 30s has been seriously injured in an attack on Dublin’s Talbot Street. 

The assault took place in the early hours of Sunday morning and afterwards the victim was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment. 

He is currently in a stable but serious condition.

The scene has been preserved and Gardaí have asked for any witnesses to contact them. 

They are particularly interested in talking to any drivers who have dashcam footage from the Talbot Street area between 12.30am and 1.30am.
