A man who believed his wife had died several years ago was shocked when he saw her on television.

Abragh Mohamed, from Azilal, Morocco, believed he had lost his wife in a car crash in 2014.

Following the crash, she was taken to a hospital in Casablanca, where doctors said it was unlikely she would survive.

When Mohamed reached his home village after four hours of travel, he was informed she had died. He received a wrapped body in a coffin, which was buried near the village.

However, it turned out the woman was alive and well, and she recently appeared on TV show Al Mokhtafoun (The Disappeared), asking to be reunited with her husband.

It remains unclear what caused the mix up that caused another person to be buried in her place, but media reports suggest medical or administrative incompetence was to blame.
