A man has died after a fatal shooting incident in County Dublin.

It happened at around 12.15am this morning on the Knocknarea Road in Drimnagh.

The man's body remains at the scene which is being preserved for a technical exam.

A post-mortem is also being arranged.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the shooting and are detained at Garda stations in the Dublin region.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed and an incident room has been set up at Sundrive Road Garda Station.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the incident to come forward.
