A man in his mid-40s has been shot in Delgany, County Wicklow. 

The shooting took place at 4.30pm today and the man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A man in his late teens was assaulted during the incident and has also been hospitalised with non-life threatening injuries.

The scene has been preserved for a Garda examination.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact Greystone Garda Station.
