A man has been shot in a paramilitary-style shooting in North Belfast.

It happened in the the New Lodge area this evening.

At around 7.55, police received reports that a man had been shot in both legs.

He has been taken to hospital where his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the New Lodge area to contact Detectives at Tennent Street.
