Being one of the busiest cities in the world, Tokyo isn't exactly the best place to keep a cat or dog as pet.
One man has found a much more convenient (and much more strange) pet to keep himself company - a giant hornet.
The insects, which measure over six centimetres in length, claim about 40 lives every year with their venomous sting.
According to Yahoo News, the unnamed man described over Twitter how he tamed his hornet by pinning it down and removing its stinger and poison sacs. He also tied a string leash around it to prevent it flying away.
Though some Twitter users suspect a hoax, the man claims that it's the real deal. When asked whether the animal was aggressive, he replied:
"He does bite occasionally but it doesn't really hurt."
