A man (44) will appear in court today, charged in relation to a series of armed robberies in Dublin.

Gardai arrested the man and seized a firearm on Friday evening in the Aungier Street area of the capital.

It was part of an on-going investigation into raids on business premises in the city.

A woman (21) was also arrested and held at Pearse Street garda station before being released without charged.

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
