A man will appear in court in the morning in connection with an aggravated burglary in Waterford City earlier today.

Gardai were called to a house in Meadowbrook on the Cork Road in the early hours of this morning, after a man entered the property armed with a machete.

There were three people in the house at the time - including a teenage girl.

A man in his 20s will appear before a special sitting of Waterford District Court at half past ten in the morning.
